Not only is Brusters Ice Cream going to hand out lots of FREE Ice cream at CulpeperFest - we are attempting TWO world records!

Don't miss all the excitement - live at CulpeperFest - or maybe you can even compete!

Who can eat the most ice cream in 30 Seconds!

Current Record: 13.5 oz

Who can enter? Anyone 18 years or older can sign up online or at the Chamber of Commerce down at the Train Depot. For any contestants under 18 - you may compete if you have Parent permission AND attendance at the event. Competition waiver will need to be completed by all contestants.

Rules: Each Contestant will have a bowl of vanilla ice cream. Each bowl will be weighed before and after the contest. The contestant eating the most ice cream will win the competition.

Judges: Judges will be present to verify the weights of each bowl of ice cream, the consistency of the ice cream, and for time keeping.

Documentation: The contest will be Video recorded for documentation and officially witnessed by local authorities - including, but not limited to the Chamber of Commerce President.

If a contestant is able to eat more than 13.5 oz of ice cream - this would break the current world record. All documentation will be Notarized and validated for official submission to Authorities.

Prizes: The winner of the contest will receive a prize package (to be determined) that will include FREE ice cream at the Culpeper Brusters Ice Cream once it opens in 2010.

All contestants will receive the "official" Brusters Ice Cream - Ice Cream Eating Contest - World Record Attempt T-Shirt. ONLY 10 Contestants will be allowed - so hurry and sign up and don't miss out!

Can we scoop 20 ice cream cones in 60 seconds!

Who?? Michael, Melissa and Tyler Martin - The family owners of the local Brusters Ice Cream!

Current Record: Baskin-Robbins Franchisee Mitch Cohen currently holds the Guinness World Record™ for scooping the most ice cream cones in one minute (19 cones).

Can we beat him!?? We are certainly going to try!

Each cone must be of uniform size and weight so the goal is both SPEED and ACCURACY!

Judges will be on hand to keep time and to judge the size and weight of each cone. In order to break the record - this means scooping 1 cone every 3 seconds!!

Come and cheer on your favorite Scooper!!

Contest Rules - Ice Cream Eating Contest

Each contestant must attend the CulpeperFest 2010 event to participate. Brusters Ice Cream will provide each contestant with 1 (one) ticket for entry at CulpeperFest.
Contestants under age 18 must have parents permission AND a parent or legal guardian must be present at the contest. To be present, a ticket to CulpeperFest is required.

Obtaining tickets for non-participants is the sole responsibility of those persons. Extra tickets cannot be provided by Brusters Ice Cream. Tickets are on sale at multiple

locations around Culpeper until June 1, 2010. See the Chamber of Commerce website for more details or check the Culpeper Star Exponent for advertising.
Each contestant will be provided with 3 dishes of ice cream (Vanilla) to consume. Each dish will be weighed by the judges and should contain approximately 5 oz of ice cream.
Time period for the contest is 30 seconds which will be recorded by the timekeeping judge.
Contestants shall eat as much Ice Cream as possible in the 30 second time period. All ice cream must be eaten from the first dish before moving on to the next.
At the end of the 30 second time period - the contestant who eats the most ice cream (by weight) will be declared the winner. Judges rulings will be final.

Each dish will have been weighed separately before the contest started and the weight will be recorded.

After the contest, each dish will be weighed again to determine the difference.

This difference will be the amount of ice cream consumed by the contestant in the 30 second time period.

Prizes:

• Each contestant will be given a T-shirt to remember the event.

• The overall winner will be given a prize package to be determined, but will include a gift certificate to the local Brusters Ice Cream store! 2nd and 3rd prizes also available.

World Record Attempt

• The current world record for eating ice cream in 30 seconds is 13.5 oz. This contest is also being held as an attempt to break this record.

• In the event a contestant is determined to have broken the record, an official affidavit of participation and statement of claim will be completed and signed by the contestant if they so wish. The event information, data recorded and official affidavits will be used to officially submit for inclusion as a World record attempt.

Contestant Release

1. All contestants for the Ice Cream Eating contest must sign and submit the contestant release / entry form.
Form can be obtained at the Chamber of Commerce - located at the Train Depot in downtown Culpeper, or you can download the form below.

2. All entry forms must be submitted in person at the Chamber of Commerce - or by mail to the following address.

3. Entries will be reviewed by date received. Only 10 entries will be awarded a spot in the ice cream eating contest.

4. Each official entrant awarded will receive ONE ticket to CulpeperFest in order to participate in the contest.

5. Entries will be reviewed and awarded entry to the contest by the local Brusters Franchise owners. Contestants will be contacted by phone and by email to discuss their entry and participation.

6. Contestants must abide by all release terms and contest rules or be disqualified from the contest.
